A golf bag which includes a body having an exterior surface. A panel is also provided which has a peripheral edge. A first mating component of a two component fastening system is mounted to the peripheral edge of the panel. A second mating component of the two component fastening system is mounted to the exterior surface of the body. By mating the first mating component and the second mating component the panel attaches to the exterior surface of the body to form a storage pocket, and yet the panel remains totally detachable from the body.
