The present invention provides methods of screening for the presence of premalignant melanocytes in a sample from a patient. The methods comprise contacting a nucleic acid sample from a biological sample from the patient with a probe which binds selectively toa target polynucleotide sequence on a chromosomal region which is amplified in melanoma cells.

Cette invention a trait à des méthodes de criblage aux fins de la recherche de la présence de mélanocytes précancéreux dans un prélèvement pris sur un patient. Ces méthodes consistent à mettre en contact un échantillon d'acide nucléique issu d'un prélèvement biologique avec une sonde se fixant, de manière sélective, à une séquence polynucléotidique cible sur une région chromosomique qui est amplifiée dans des cellules de mélanome.
