The system and method of the present invention for detecting screen hotspots (24, 34) provides a graphical user interface environment that enables a user to select screen hotspots that are graphically represented by complex shapes and multiple colors. The use of complex-shaped multi-colored hotspots (C1-C7) enables the creation of more realistic graphical representations implementing screen hotspots. Monochrome bitmaps, or masks (40), are created for each and every hotspot of each and every window view that may be displayed on a screen (18). Each mask defines valid coordinates for the corresponding hotspots such that, so long as a cursor (48) is located on a valid coordinate, the user can select that hotspot, regardless of the complex shape or multiple colors used to graphically represent the hotspot.
Cette invention se rapporte à un système et à un procédé servant à détecter des points chauds (24, 34) d'un écran, afin d'offrir un environnement d'interface utilisateur graphique qui permet à l'utilisateur de sélectionner sur l'écran des points chauds qui sont représentés graphiquement par des formes complexes et par des couleurs multiples. L'utilisation de points chauds multicolores de formes complexes (C1-C7) permet de créer des représentations graphiques plus réalistes des points chauds d'un écran. Des graphiques en mode point monochromes ou des masques (40) sont créés pour chaque point chaud de chaque fenêtre qui peut être affichée sur l'écran (18). Chaque masque définit des coordonnées valides pour les points chauds correspondants, pour que, aussi longtemps que le curseur (48) est situé sur une coordonnée valide, l'utilisateur puisse sélectionner ce point chaud, indépendamment de la forme complexe et des couleurs multiples utilisées pour représenter graphiquement ce point chaud.
