Disclosed are trichloroisocyanuric acid compositions that have improved algicidal and/or fungicidal properties yet are relatively safe and non-corrosive. The compositions preferably contain between about 50 % and about 95 % TCCA, between about 0.5 % and about 7 % glycoluril, between about 2% and about 40 % alum, and between about 2 % and about 40 % borax. The compositions generate substantially less chlorine gas than would be expected from the teachings of the prior art, especially when wet. The inventive compositions are therefore less toxic and less corrosive.

Cette invention concerne des compositions d'acide trichloroisocyanurique qui possèdent des propriétés algicides et/ou fongicides et qui sont cependant relativement sûres et non corrosives. Ces compositions contiennent de préférence de 50 à 95 % environ d'acide trichloroisocyanurique (TTCA), de 0,5 à 7 % environ de glycolurile, de 2 à 40 % environ d'alun et de 2 à 40 % environ de borax. Ces compositions produisent sensiblement moins de gaz que ce à quoi l'on pourrait s'attendre à partir des enseignements des techniques antérieures, notamment lorsque ces compositions sont plongées dans l'eau. Les compositions qui sont l'objet de cette invention sont par conséquent moins toxiques et moins corrosives.
