A valve (100) has a valve stem (150) sealed by packing (160). A gland spigot (180) applies an axial compression loading to the packing (160) via a sleeve (130) when bolts (240, 250) are tightened. The spigot (18) has arms (190, 200) with slots (400, 401) that divide the arms (190, 200) into upper and lower branches (402, 403). The branches (402, 403) are urged towards each other on tightening the bolts (240, 250) to pre-load the packing and act as integral springs to maintain the compression loading in use of the valve (100). The deflection of the branches (402, 403) is limited by one or more washers (251, 252) located on the bolts (240, 250) between the branches (402, 403) to control the loading applied to the packing (160).
L'invention concerne une soupape (100) pourvue d'une tige (150) scellée par un emballage (160). Un bout uni de presse-étoupe (180) applique une charge de compression axiale sur l'emballage (160) via un manchon (130) lorsque des boulons (240, 250) sont serrés. Ledit bout uni (18) comporte des bras (190, 200) pourvus de fentes (400, 401) qui divisent les bras (190, 200) en branches supérieures et inférieures (402, 403). En serrant les boulons (240, 250) pour précharger l'emballage, on rapproche ces branches (402, 403) l'une de l'autre, lesquelles agissent comme des ressorts intégrés qui maintiennent la charge de compression lors de l'utilisation de la soupape (100). Le fléchissement des branches (402, 403) est limité par une ou plusieurs rondelle (251, 252) situées sur les boulons (240, 250) entre les branches (402, 403) afin de réguler la charge appliquée sur l'emballage (160).
