The invention encompasses a novel gene encoding a protein of the ubiquitin- proteasome pathway, UBP8rp. The invention also relates the use of UBP8rp polypeptides for screening for modulators, and to the use of said modulators for treating chronic inflammatory diseases such as, e.g., psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease and multiple sclerosis. The invention further relates to the use of biallelic markers located in the UBP8rp gene for diagnosing said chronic inflammatory diseases.
Cette invention se rapporte à un nouveau gène codant une protéine de la voie ubiquitine-protéasome, UBP8rp. Cette invention concerne également l'utilisation de polypeptides UBP8rp pour cribler des modulateurs, ainsi que l'utilisation de ces modulateurs pour traiter des maladies inflammatoires chroniques, telles que le psoriasis, le rhumatisme psoriasique, la polyarthrite rhumatoïde, l'asthme, la maladie intestinale inflammatoire et la sclérose en plaques. Cette invention concerne en outre l'utilisation de marqueurs bialléliques situés dans le gène UBP8rp pour diagnostiquer ces maladies inflammatoires chroniques.
