A nonionic surfactant having an average molecular weight of 450 to 800 and an inorganic/organic ratio of 1.07 to 1.50 is added to an aqueous polytetrafluoroethylene emulsion having a PTFE content of 10 to 50 wt.% obtained by polymerizing tetrafluoroethylene by emulsion polymerization in the presence of an anionic perfluorocarboxylic acid salt surfactant (APFC), in an amount of 2 to 20 wt.% based on the PTFE. Water is further added thereto in an amount of 10 to 800 wt.% based on the PTFE to obtain an aqueous PTFE dispersion having a PTFE content of 1 to 40 wt.%. The PTFE is concentrated by sedimentation. An aqueous PTFE dispersion composition having a high concentration is separated from the supernatant. Thus, an aqueous high- concentration PTFE dispersion composition reduced in APFC concentration is obtained.
Dans la présente invention on ajoute un tensioactif non ionique présentant un poids moléculaire moyen compris entre 450 et 800 et un rapport inorganique/organique compris entre 1,07 et 1,50, à une émulsion aqueuse de polytétrafluoroéthylène ayant une teneur en PTFE comprise entre 10 et 50 % en poids, qu'on obtient par polymérisation en émulsion de tétrafluoroéthylène en présence d'un tensioactif au sel d'acide perfluorocarboxylique anionique (APFC), suivant une quantité comprise entre 2 et 20 % en poids sur la base du PTFE. On ajoute également de l'eau suivant une quantité comprise entre 10 et 800 % en poids sur la base du PTFE pour obtenir une dispersion aqueuse de PTFE ayant une teneur en PTFE comprise entre 4 et 40 % en poids. Le PTFE est concentré par sédimentation. Une composition de dispersion aqueuse de PTFE à forte concentration est séparée du surnageant. On obtient de cette manière une composition de dispersion aqueuse de PTFE fortement concentrée à teneur réduite en APFC.
