A method and apparatus for achieving a non-disruptive code load that includes staging the new version of executable code, stacking the hardware events during code copy and code switch over, copying the code into the runtime area, restarting the system upon completion of copying the new code without reinitializing the hardware and processing the stacked hardware events with the same system state (hardware and firmware) information.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de charger un code sans temps d'arrêt. Ce procédé consiste à activer la nouvelle version du code exécutable, à empiler les événements matériels durant la copie du code et de sa permutation, à copier le code dans la zone d'exécution, à redémarrer le système une fois la copie du nouveau code terminée, sans réinitialisation du matériel, et à traiter les événements matériels empilés avec les mêmes informations d'état système (matériel et micrologiciel).
