2119657 9308868 PCTABS00021 A terminal reservoir capping device according to the present invention includes a hollow member (20) having first (22) and second (24) open ends. A first plug (30) seals the first open end (22) such that the plug (30) is inwardly displaceable into the hollow member (20). A second plug (38) seals the second open end (24). A chamber (46) is defined by the hollow member (20) and the first and second plugs (30) and (38). A reservoir of disinfecting fluid or therapeutic drug (48) is provided in the chamber. Axially extending from the first end of the hollow member is a mechanism for engaging and advancing (50) the tube connector (12) into the chamber (46) so as to inwardly displace the first plug (30) into the chamber (46). The plug (30) self-releases and allows dispersal of the reservoir fluid (48) into the tube connector (12).
