The present invention provides immunogenic oligosaccharide compositions and methods of making and using them. In particular, the compositions comprise native O-linked and S-linked oligosaccharides coupled to a protein carrier via a linker, wherein the resultant conjugate elicits a protectively immunogenic response, particularly in vaccines against pathogenic Candida species and more particularly against Candida albicans. Preferably the pathogenic Candida species are those that possess cell wall oligosaccharide compositions similar to the .beta.-mannan component of Candida albicans cell walls.

Cette invention concerne des compositions d'oligosaccharides immunogènes et des procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation de ces compositions. Ces compositions comprennent en particulier des oligosaccharides à liaison O et à liaison S couplés à un véhicule protéique par l'intermédiaire d'un segment de liaison, le conjugué qui en résulte déclenchant une réponse immunogène protectrice, en particulier dans des vaccins contre les espèces Candida pathogènes et plus particulièrement contre Candida albicans. Les espèces Candida pathogènes sont de préférence celles qui possèdent des compositions d'oligosaccharides de parois cellulaires similaires au composant ß-mannane des parois cellulaires de Candida albicans.
