An ice barrier and an ice making machine having an ice barrier is provided in some embodiments, wherein the ice barrier is movable between a first orientation in which liquid water from an ice- forming surface is directed into the liquid receptacle, and a second orientation in which the ice barrier blocks access of ice from the ice-forming surface to locations in which ice is trapped between the ice barrier and an adjacent surface. Also, a method of producing ice in an ice making machine is provided in some embodiments, wherein a barrier diverts a flow of liquid water received from the ice- forming surface away from an ice collection bin, and wherein the barrier is moved to an orientation in which the barrier diverts ice toward the ice collection bin and also blocks access of ice to positions trapped between the barrier and an adjacent surface.
L'invention concerne une barrière de glace et machine de fabrication de glace ayant une barrière de glace fournie dans certains modes de réalisation. Ladite barrière de glace est amovible entre une première orientation dans laquelle de l'eau liquide est dirigée depuis une surface de formation de glace dans le réservoir de liquide, et une seconde orientation dans laquelle la barrière de glace bloque l'accès de la glace depuis la surface de formation de glace à des emplacements dans lesquels la glace est emprisonnée entre la barrière de glace et une surface adjacente. Un procédé consistant à produire de la glace dans une machine de fabrication de glace est également fourni dans certains modes de réalisation. Ledit procédé comporte une barrière qui dévie un écoulement d'eau liquide reçu depuis la surface de formation de glace d'un panier de collecte de glace, et la barrière est déplacée vers une orientation dans laquelle la barrière dévie la glace vers le panier de collecte de glace et bloque également l'accès de la glace à des positions emprisonnées entre la barrière et une surface adjacente.
