The calcium carbonate is prepared by: a) slaking quicklime in an aqueous medium; b) passing the suspension of calcium hydroxide through a sieve; c) converting the calcium hydroxide into a finely dispersed condition; d) carbonating and neutralising the suspension of finely dispersed slaked lime formed in step (c) using a gas comprising carbon dioxide; and e) separating the precipitated calcium carbonate formed in step (d) from the aqueous medium in which it is suspended.

Le carbonate de calcium est préparé en : a) hydratant de la chaux vive dans un milieu aqueux; b) tamisant la suspension d'hydroxyde de calcium; c) transformant l'hydroxyde de calcium en une substance finement dispersée; d) carbonatant et neutralisant la suspension de chaux hydratée finement dispersée, formée à l'étape c), au moyen d'un gaz comprenant du dioxyde de carbone; e) séparant le carbonate de calcium précipité, formé à l'étape d), du milieu aqueux dans lequel il est en suspension.
