A novel phosphine ligand is an enantiomerically enriched compound of formula (5) or the opposite enantiomer thereof, wherein Ar1 and Ar2 represent the same or different aromatic groups of up to 20 C atoms. A transition metal complex of this ligand is useful as a catalyst in stereoselective hydrogenation.

La présente invention concerne un nouveau ligand phosphine qui est un composé enrichi en énantiomère de la formule (5) ou l'énantiomère opposé de ce dernier, dans laquelle Ar?1¿ and Ar?2¿ représentent les mêmes ou différents groupes aromatiques renfermant jusqu'à 20 atomes C. L'invention se rapporte également à un complexe de métaux de transition du ligand précité, qui est utilisé comme catalyseur dans l'hydrogénation stéréosélective.
