Process for thickening sludge entrained in waste water, in which the waste water is subjected to a pretreatment reinforcing flocculation and is subsequently introduced into a bath for separating the sludge from the water in the direction of gravity, in which sludge particles sink under the action of gravity and are taken off in the lower region of the bath. To increase the performance of the process, the invention proposes to stream the waste water on introduction into the bath against a baffle by which the streaming of the waste water is deflected into the bath. The invention further specifies a device for carrying out the process which has a container (2) which has a funnel-shaped section (6), a falling pipe (26) which is arranged extending in the longitudinal direction in the container (2) and opens to the container via one inlet orifice (52) for introducing the waste water stream falling through the falling pipe and has a takeoff orifice formed at the bottom end of the funnel-shaped section for takeoff of settled sludge particles from the container (2). The device according to the invention in addition has a baffle (24) arranged in the region of the inlet orifice (52), via which baffle the waste water stream is deflected.
Procédé permettant d~épaissir la boue charriée par les eaux usées, dans lequel les eaux usées sont exposées à un prétraitement combiné à la floculation avant de passer dans un bain envue de la séparation de la boue de l~eau par un effet de gravité, bain dans lequel les particules de boue se déposent au fond par gravité et sont éliminées dans la région inférieure du bain. Pour augmenter les performances du procédé, l~invention propose alors que les eaux usées en pénétrant dans le bain soient projetées contre une chicane, permettant de dévier l~écoulement des eaux usées dans le bain. L~invention concerne en outre un dispositif de réalisation du procédé, comprenant un contenant (2), présentant une section (6) en forme de trémie, un tuyau de descente (26), qui est disposé dans le contenant (2) s~étendant dans la direction longitudinale et s~ouvre vers le contenant par le biais d~une ouverture d~introduction (52) pour l~introduction de l~écoulement des eaux usées tombant à travers le tuyau de descente et présentant une ouverture d~évacuation réalisée à l~extrémité inférieure de la section en forme de trémie, destinée à l~évacuation des particules de boue déposées hors du contenant (2). Le dispositif de l~invention présente en outre une chicane (24) disposée dans la région de l~ouverture d~introduction (52), permettant de dévier l~écoulement des eaux usées.
