The invention concerns cellulose formate fibre of liquid crystal origin with high breaking elongation and having the following features: a) under optical polarising microscope, its filaments have a ribbon structure characteristic of its liquid crystal origin; b) it verifies the following relationships: DS ? 2; Ar ? 8; Te < 45; Mi > 500; Er > 10, DS being the degree of substitution of cellulose in formate groups in the fibre (in %), Ar the fibre breaking elongation (in %), Te its toughness (in cN/tex), Mi its initial modulus (in cN/tex) and Er its energy at break (in J/g). The invention also concerns the method for obtaining this cellulose formate fibre by dry-jet-wet spinning of a cellulose formate liquid crystal solution, in which water is used as coagulant. The invention further concerns cellulose fibre reclaimed from cellulose formate having itself a high breaking elongation and the method for obtaining this fibre.

Fibre en formiate de cellulose, d'origine cristal-liquide, ayant un allongement à la rupture important et présentant les caractéristiques suivantes: (a) sous microscope optique de polarisation, ses filaments présentent une structure en bande typique de son origine cristal-liquide; (b) elle vérifie les relations suivantes: DS 2; Ar 8; Te < 45; Mi > 500; Er > 10, DS étant le degré de substitution de la cellulose en groupes formiate dans la fibre (en %), Ar l'allongement à la rupture (en %) de la fibre, Te sa ténacité (en cN/tex), Mi son module initial (en cN/tex) et Er son énergie à la rupture (en J/g). Procédé d'obtention de cette fibre en formiate de cellulose par filage "dry-jet-wet" d'une solution cristal-liquide de formiate de cellulose, dans lequel on utilise de l'eau comme agent coagulant. Fibre en cellulose régénérée à partir du formiate de cellulose présentant elle-même une valeur élevée d'allongement à la rupture, et procédé pour obtenir cette fibre.
