PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF 3-ACYLPYRROLIDONES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The process of the present invention provides 3- acylpyrrolidones by reaction of an anilino ketone with a diketene, followed by reduction with hydrogen in the presence of a noble metal catalyst. The products are useful as intermediates for pesticides.
