An optical module comprises a substrate (2), formed with wiring patterns for electrical signals and having a mounting surface (2b) mounted with one or more semiconductor optical elements (4), and a package (7, 8) in which the substrate (2) is located. The substrate (2) is formed with at least one first positioning section (2c), the package (7) is formed of a synthetic resin and includes a disposition section (7e) in which one or more optical waveguide components are opposed to the semiconductor optical elements (4), and a second positioning section (7g) adapted to engage the first positioning section, thereby positioning the semiconductor optical elements and the disposition section.

L'invention porte sur un module optique comportant un substrat (2) présentant une surface de montage (2b) sur laquelle est réalisé un motif de circuit électrique, et où sont montés un ou plusieurs éléments optiques (4) à semi-conducteurs, ainsi qu'un boîtier (7, 8) renfermant le substrat (2). Une première section de positionnement (2c) au moins est formée sur le substrat (2). Le boîtier (7), fait de résine synthétique, comporte une section de mise en place (7e) où un ou plusieurs éléments de guides d'ondes optiques font face aux éléments optiques (4) et une deuxième section de positionnement (7g), s'engageant dans la première section de positionnement (7e) et qui positionne les éléments (4) et les sections (7e).
