A TIRE WITH IMPROVED VENTING Abstract of the Disclosure A pneumatic tire in which the sidewall design is integrated with the tread design is provided. The sidewall has serrations or grooves which facilitate venting of gases when the tire is vulcanized, and help reduce crack propagation in the sidewall of the completed tire. The serrations are angled to complement or match the angles of lateral grooves in the tread.
