A method and apparatus for distance measurement is disclosed in which first and second signals having different propagation speeds are transmitted between a transmitter (2) at a first location and a receiver (3) at a second location. The distance between the first and second locations is determined from the difference in propagation time between the first and second signals.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de mesurer les distances, dans lesquels un premier et un second signal ayant des vitesses de propagation différentes sont transmis entre un émetteur (2) situé à un premier emplacement et un récepteur (3) situé à un second emplacement. La distance entre le premier et le second emplacement est calculée à partir de la différence du temps de propagation entre le premier et le second signal.
