It is intended to provide a novel agent for preventing and ameliorating constipation which can very effectively ameliorate constipation symptoms without any side effects. Namely, an agent for preventing and ameliorating constipation containing a water-containing gel of a polyvalent metal alginate which is in the form of spherical or cocoon-shaped particles having a minor diameter of from 1 to 10 mm and an aspect ratio (major diameter/minor diameter) of from 1 to 2.5. This water-containing gel of a polyvalent metal alginate is obtained by dropping an aqueous solution of sodium alginate into an aqueous solution of a polyvalent metal salt. If needed, it is preserved in water and/or a hydrogel compound of a natural compound having a free acid group which can be captured after reacting with a basic compound.
L'invention concerne un nouvel agent de prévention et d'atténuation de la constipation capable de soulager de manière très efficace les symptômes de constipation sans pour autant provoquer des effets secondaires. Plus précisément, l'invention concerne un agent de prévention et d'atténuation de la constipation qui contient un gel renfermant de l'eau d'un alginate de métaux polyvalents sous la forme de particules sphériques ou de cocon ayant un petit diamètre situé entre 1 et 10 mm et un rapport de forme (grand diamètre/petit diamètre) compris entre 1 et 2,5. On obtient ledit gel renfermant de l'eau d'un alginate de métaux polyvalents en faisant tomber une solution aqueuse d'alginate de sodium dans une solution aqueuse d'un sel de métaux polyvalents. Au besoin, on le conserve dans de l'eau et/ou dans un composé hydrogel d'un composé naturel ayant un groupe d'acide libre pouvant être capturé après réaction avec un composé basique.
