A developing unit for an imaging device, which includes a toner developing member, a toner hopper, and a toner cartridge. The toner hopper includes a cartridge installation hole into which the toner cartridge may be installed. The toner cartridge includes an inner sleeve member that stores toner in its interior and an outer sleeve member disposed around the outer circumference of the inner sleeve member and capable of relative rotation with it. The inner sleeve member includes a first opening in its surface which faces downward during installation into the imaging device, and the outer sleeve member includes a second opening in its surface which may be aligned with the first opening. The toner cartridge may only be removed from the toner hopper when the second opening in the outer sleeve member is rotated 180 with respect to the first opening in the inner sleeve member, thereby preventing the inadvertent spillage of toner.
