The disclosure relates to a platinum alloy comprising (a) 47.5 to 54.99 wt.% of platinum, (b) 1.5 to 10 wt.% of cobalt, and (c) 35.01 to 51 wt.% of copper. The platinum alloys have excellent mechanical and optical properties for use in the production of ornamental articles such as rings, necklaces, earrings, watch bands, watch bodies and other jewelry. The disclosure further relates to a method of preparing the platinum alloys and their use in the production of ornamental articles. Still further the disclosure relates to ornamental articles comprising the platinum alloy and a method of production thereof.

L'invention concerne un alliage de platine comprenant (a) de 47,5 à 54,99 % en poids de platine, (b) de 1,5 à 10 % en poids de cobalt, et (c) de 35,01 à 51 % en poids de cuivre. Ces alliages de platine présentent d'excellentes propriétés mécaniques et optiques et sont destinés à une utilisation pour la fabrication d'articles ornementaux, tels que des bagues, des colliers, des boucles d'oreilles, des bracelets de montres, des corps de montres, et d'autres bijoux.
