A calibrator suitable for calibrating a noninvasive analyte detector, such as a Raman spectroscopy device, allows the user of the detection device to establish standard measurements of the analyte to be detected, thereby providing assurance that appropriate analyte measurements are obtained at the time of sampling. The calibrator is simple to use, making it suitable for home use by individuals regardless of medical or technical skill level. In particular, the calibrator can be used with a noninvasive glucose detection system, such as for monitoring of blood glucose levels in diabetics. For use with noninvasive detectors designed for obtaining measurements from a subject's fingertip, the calibrator can be formed into a shape that reasonably mimics a fingertip in size, texture and/or spectral properties.
L'invention concerne un appareil d'étalonnage destiné à étalonner un détecteur d'analyte non invasif, tel qu'un dispositif de spectroscopie Raman, et permettant à l'utilisateur du dispositif de détection d'établir des mesures standard de l'analyte à détecter, ce qui garantit l'obtention de mesures d'analyte appropriées au moment de l'échantillonnage. Cet appareil d'étalonnage est facile à utiliser, d'où la possibilité d'une utilisation en milieu non hospitalier indépendamment des connaissances médicales ou techniques de l'utilisateur. Plus particulièrement, ledit appareil d'étalonnage peut être utilisé avec un système de détection de glucose non invasif, notamment pour surveiller les taux de glycémie chez les diabétiques. En vue d'une utilisation avec des détecteurs non invasifs conçus pour obtenir des mesures à partir du bout du doigt d'un sujet, l'appareil d'étalonnage peut être formé de manière sensiblement identique au bout du doigt en termes de taille, de texture et/ou de propriétés spectrales.
