A method for recognizing a character string on a static document is disclosed. The character string is extracted from the static document. The character string is converted into a representative character string graph. The common embedded isomorphic graphs are extracted from the representative character string graph. Each of the common embedded isomorphic graphs extracted are converted into digital ink files. The character string associated with each of the digital ink files are identified using a dynamic recognition system.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de reconnaissance d'une chaîne de caractères dans un document statique. On commence par extraire la chaîne de caractères du document statique, puis on convertit cette chaîne de caractères en un graphe représentatif de la chaîne de caractères. On extrait les graphes isomorphes communs inclus du graphe représentatif de la chaîne de caractères, et on convertit chacun de ces graphes en fichiers de tracés. Pour identifier la chaîne de caractères associée à chacun de ces fichiers de tracés, on utilise un système de reconnaissance dynamique.
