The invention relates to a control and signaling device or a signaling device with a luminous element. Said device consists of a front element and a fastening adapter onto which functional elements can be snapped. The aim of the invention is to provide such a device at low costs and in a simple manner. To this end, only one electroluminescent diode (3) with a electroluminescent diode head (5) and connecting wires (4) is integrated in the functional element (2). Said electroluminescent diode head (5) is embedded and held in a receiver (6). Said electroluminescent diode (3) has an angle of reflection of 30-45 degree and a luminosity of at least 0.5 candela. An electronic circuit is arranged on strip conductors (11) that are located on the inner wall of one half (1) of a housing and that have been applied thereon by way of hot stamping.
