Hair spray compositions in aqueous based systems containing 80% or less of volatile organic compounds exhibit a loss of spray performance properties resulting from viscosity and surface tension increases. The addition of 0.6 to 5% of one or more hydrophobic additives selected from the group consisting of hexamethyl disiloxane, bisphenyl hexamethicone and isocetyl alcohol improves the spray characteristics by eliminating foaming at the spray actuator and on the hair.

Des compositions de fixatifs pour cheveux dans des systèmes à base d'eau contenant 80 % ou moins de composés organiques volatils se pulvérisent moins bien en raison de l'augmentation de la viscosité et de la tension superficielle. L'addition de 0,6 à 5 % d'un ou de plusieurs additifs hydrophobes choisis dans le groupe constitué de l'hexaméthyldisiloxane, de la bisphénylhexaméthicone et de l'alcool isocétylique améliore les caractéristiques de pulvérisation du fixatif par élimination de la formation de mousse au niveau du poussoir de commande de la pulvérisation et sur les cheveux.
