HOE 91/F 174 Abstract of the disclosure Process for the preparation of 3'-aminopropyl 2-chloro- ethyl sulfone semisulfate A process for the preparation of 3'-aminopropyl 2-chloro- ethyl sulfone semisulfate in very good yield and high purity, by reacting allylamine with mercaptoethanol in a one-pot process in about 0.5 to about 0.6 mol of dilute sulfuric acid, relative to allylamine, at temperatures of about 0°C up to the boiling point of the reaction mixture in the presence of a free-radical initiator, introducing 2.0 to about 2.5 mol of chlorine into the resultant reaction mixture at temperatures of about 0°C to about 100°C and then concentrating the mixture obtained to dryness.
