The invention relates to a method for producing orthocarbonic acid trialkyl esters by electrochemical oxidation of alpha-beta-diketones or alpha-beta- hydroxy ketones in the presence of C1-to C4-alcohols (alcohol A), the keto function being present in the form of a ketal function derived from C1- to C4- alykl alcohols and the hydroxyl function being optionally in the form of an ether function derived from C1- to C4-alykl alcohols (ketal K). The molar ratio of the ketal K to the alcohols A in the electrolytes is 0.2:1 to 10:1.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de trialkylesters d'acide orthocarboxylique par oxydation électrochimique d'alpha-béta-dicétones ou d'alpha-béta-hydroxycétones, caractérisé en ce que la fonction céto se présente sous la forme d'une fonction cétal dérivée d'alkylalcools en C¿1? à C¿4?, la fonction hydroxyle se présente éventuellement sous la forme d'une fonction éther dérivée d'alkylalcools en C¿1? à C¿4? (cétals K), en présence d'alcools en C¿1? à C¿4? (alcools A), et en ce que, dans les électrolytes, le rapport molaire des cétals K aux alcools A est compris entre 0,2 : 1 et 10 : 1.
