PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé pour récupérer l'antimoine contenu dans une solution de catalyseur antimonié usagé, issue d'unités de fluoration ou chlorofluoration des hydrocarbures halogénés comprenant au moins deux atomes de carbone, on concentre la solution jusqu'à la limite de distillation du trichlorure d'antimoine, puis on ajoute un excès de chlore pour transformer SbCl3 en SbCl5, et on distille SbCl5 sous pression réduite sans dépasser 120°C. Le pentachlorure d'antimoine récupéré est suffisamment pur pour pouvoir être directement recycle au réacteur de fluoration.
