ABSTRACT A filter particularly for use in the reservoir of a water cooling unit which comprises a body which is adapted to be received in the reservoir adjacent the top thereof, the filter having an inlet which is adapted to receive the neck of a water bottle or the like and having filter medium or media through which water passing from the inlet must pass before passing from the outlet to the reservoir and a breather tube passing through the filter into the water bottle and terminating above the level thereof. A water cooling unit is also included within the invention.
