Disclosed herein is a new improved large planetary gear system used on the input stage of wind turbine power generators. This improved planetary gear system reduces or eliminates lubricant debris traditionally generated from the gear teeth, thereby eliminating an initiating source for bearing failure. To achieve these results, some and preferably all of the gear teeth within the planetary gear system are superfinished using chemically accelerated vibratory finishing to a surface roughness of approximately 0.25 micron or less. Several objects and advantages of the invention are to provide a gearbox with reduced metal debris, improved bearing life, reduced wear, reduced vibro-frictional noise, improved contact fatigue, improved fretting resistance, improved lubrication, to simplify the run-in process, and to enhance the durability and efficiency of the gearbox.
L'invention concerne un nouvel engrenage planétaire de grande taille amélioré utilisé sur l'étage d'entrée de générateurs de puissance éoliens. Cet engrenage planétaire amélioré réduit ou élimine des débris de lubrifiant généralement générés par les dents de l'engrenage, ce qui permet d'éliminer une source initiatrice de défaillance des paliers. Afin d'obtenir ces résultats, certaines et de préférence la totalité des dents (4) de l'engrenage faisant partie de l'engrenage planétaire (1, 2, 3) sont soumises à une superfinition au moyen d'une finition par vibrations accélérée chimiquement sur une rugosité superficielle environ inférieure ou égale à 0,25 microns. L'invention présente divers objets et avantages qui permettent d'obtenir une boîte d'engrenages comprenant un nombre réduit de débris métalliques, une durée de vie de palier améliorée, une usure réduite, un bruit de vibrations de frottement réduit, une fatigue due au contact réduite, une résistance à l'usure de contact améliorée, une lubrification améliorée, de manière à simplifier le procédé de rodage, et d'augmenter la durabilité et l'efficacité de la boîte d'engrenages.
