A device for generating a liquid jet, the device comprising an enclosure containing one or more formers, each defining one or more cavities partially enclosed by the former, each of the formers or of the cavities supporting an explosive charge, and a filler material within the cavity, the filler material being a liquid, a gel or a non-metallic solid that will liquefy upon detonation of the device.
