A safety interlock system for an arc welder is described. The safety interlock system is interfaced with and turns on the arc welder in response to a user pressing a button 15. There may be an optional delay from when the user presses the button until when the arc welder is turned on. The safety interlock system maintains the arc welder operative for a predetermined period of time within which time an arc must be struck. The safety interlock system has a latching circuit 29 responsive to a parameter indicative of a welding operation underway, and will maintain the arc welder operative until the parameter ceases. Once the parameter ceases or if an arc is not struck within the predetermined period of time, the safety interlock system turns off the arc welder.
L'invention concerne un système de verrouillage de sécurité destiné à un soudage à l'arc. Ce système de verrouillage de sécurité est couplé au soudage à l'arc et tourne autour de celui-ci lorsqu'un utilisateur appuie sur un bouton (15). Il peut y avoir un délai éventuel entre le moment où l'utilisateur appuie sur le bouton et le moment où le soudage à l'arc est mis en fonctionnement. Le système de verrouillage de sécurité maintient le soudage à l'arc en fonctionnement pendant une période prédéterminée où un arc doit être démonté. Le système de verrouillage de sécurité présente un circuit de verrouillage (29) qui réagit à un paramètre qui indique qu'une exécution des soudures est en cours, et qui maintient le soudage à l'arc en fonctionnement jusqu'à ce que le paramètre cesse. Une fois le paramètre a cessé ou si un arc n'est pas démonté dans la période prédéterminée, le système de verrouillage de sécurité arrête le soudage à l'arc.
