A system for coupling a pipe segment to a pipe string is provided that includes a top drive assembly having an output shaft; and a pipe running tool coupled to the top drive assembly and rotatable by the output shaft of the top drive assembly. The pipe running tool includes an internal gripper for insertion within an internal diameter of the pipe segment and a tapered slip cone section, which slidably receives corresponding tapered surfaces of a plurality of slips, such that a vertical force on the slips causes the slips to move radially outwardly into gripping engagement with the internal diameter of the pipe segment, and wherein the vertical force applied to the slips is sufficient to allow the gripping engagement of the slips with the internal diameter of the pipe segment to transmit a torque from the top drive output shaft to the pipe segment.
La présente invention concerne un système pour coupler un segment de tuyau à une colonne de tubage qui comprend un ensemble d~entraînement supérieur ayant un arbre de sortie ; et un outil d~assemblage de tuyaux couplé à l~ensemble d~entraînement supérieur et pouvant être mis en rotation par l~arbre de sortie de l~ensemble d~entraînement supérieur. L~outil d~assemblage de tuyaux comprend un organe de préhension interne pour insertion à l~intérieur d~un diamètre interne du segment de tuyau et une section conique d~élément coulissant, qui reçoit de façon coulissante les surfaces coniques correspondantes d~une pluralité de coins de retenue, de sorte qu~une force verticale sur les coins de retenue entraîne ceux-ci à se déplacer radialement vers l~extérieur par serrage avec le diamètre interne du segment de tuyau, et dans lequel la force verticale appliquée aux coins de retenue est suffisante pour permettre le serrage des coins de retenue avec le diamètre interne du segment de tuyau afin de transmettre un couple depuis l~arbre de sortie d~entraînement supérieur vers le segment de tuyau.
