A self-sealing male connector (60) having a body (62), a resilient boot (64) mounted over the body, and a male thread hub. The body is formed with an elongate post (78) that extends to the distal end. The body includes a fluid flow lumen (116) extending from its proximal end (70) to its distal end (114) At its proximal end, the body may be formed as a female Luer connector, or may be directly connected to tubing, or other arrangements. The internal fluid flow lumen extends through the post to its distal end. The body includes a first groove in which is mounted the boot. In a second groove is mounted the thread cuff. The thread cuff is used to a female connector and through thread action, draw in into engagement with the post. As the female connector (194) is further engaged with the sealed male connector, the post protrudes through the boot and into fluid communication with the female fluid flow passage thus establishing a flow path through both connectors. The boot forms a seal with the female connector when engaged and returns to seal the male connector post and fluid flow passage within disconnected from the female connector.
L'invention concerne un raccord mâle auto-obturateur (60) possédant un corps (62), une gaine résiliante (64) montée au-dessus du corps et un filetage mâle. Le corps est formé d'un tenon allongé (78) qui s'étend jusqu'à l'extrémité distale. Ledit corps comprend une lumière d'écoulement de liquide (116) qui s'étend de son extrémité proximale (70) jusqu'à son extrémité distale (114). Au niveau de son extrémité proximale, le corps peut être formé comme un raccord Luer femelle ou peut être relié directement à un tube ou à d'autres dispositifs. La lumière d'écoulement de liquide interne s'étend à travers le tenon jusqu'à son extrémité distale. Ce corps peut comporter une première rainure dans laquelle est monté le filetage. Dans une seconde rainure, est montée la manchette filetée. Ladite manchette filetée est utilisée avec un raccord femelle et par le biais de l'action de filetage, elle est amenée en contact avec le tenon. Tandis que le raccord femelle (194) rentre un peu plus en contact avec le raccord mâle étanche, le tenon ressort à travers la gaine et est en communication fluidique avec le passage d'écoulement femelle de liquide, ce qui permet d'établir une voie d'écoulement par le biais des deux raccords. La gaine forme un joint avec le raccord femelle, lorsqu'elle est amenée en contact, et elle obture le tenon du raccord mâle et le passage d'écoulement de liquide, si elle est séparée du raccord femelle.
