This invention provides compositions, organisms and methodologies employing a novel human protein kinase, NRHK1. The novel protein kinase is encoded by a human gene comprising 21 exons. The human gene is localized in or near the 9q34 locus of human chromosome 9. The sequence similarity between the novel human protein and the consensus sequence of NIMA-related kinase indicates that the novel human protein may function as an NIMA-related kinase.

L'invention concerne des compositions, organismes et méthodologies utilisant une nouvelle protéine kinase humaine, NRHK1. La nouvelle protéine kinase est codée par un gène humain comprenant 21 exons. Le gène humain est localisé dans ou à proximité du locus 9q34 du chromosome humain 9. La similitude des séquences entre la nouvelle protéine humaine et la séquence consensuelle de la kinase en rapport avec NIMA indique que la nouvelle protéine peut fonctionner en tant que kinase en rapport avec NIMA.
