A flowable vertebral augmentation composition for the treatment and repair of a vertebral body defect, e.g., an osteoporotic condition, contains biocompatible, optionally osteoconductive, support elements that are resistant to deformation or fracture under the normal physiologic loads to which the repair site is subject, the support elements being incorporable into the repair site, at least one osteoinductive susbtance and an amount of biocompatible carrier sufficient to render the augmentation composition flowable, the carrier having the capacity to be cleared from the repair site.
L'invention concerne une composition fluide de renforcement vertébral permettant le traitement et la réparation d'un défaut d'un corps vertébral, comme par exemple un état ostéoporotique. Cette composition contient des éléments de support biocompatibles et éventuellement ostéoconducteurs qui résistent à la déformation ou à la fracture dans les conditions de charge physiologique normale auxquelles le site de réparation est soumis, et qui peuvent être incorporés au site de réparation, au moins un composé ostéoinductif et une quantité suffisante de support biocompatible pour assurer la fluidité de cette composition de renforcement, ce support présentant la capacité de pouvoir être éliminé du site de réparation.
