A safe operating load reducing tap plug (100) for testing, grounding and isolating a connector (120) from a high voltage system by utilizing a rated bushing insert (260) is disclosed, wherein the connector has a bushing port (122) and a plug port (124) connected to a high-voltage cable (128), and wherein the bushing port is mountable to electric equipment. The plug includes a deadbreak interface (170) having an interface contact assembly (208) receivable in the bushing port, the interface contact assembly being connectable to the high-voltage cable and the equipment; a loadbreak interface (172) having an aperture extending through to the deadbreak interface; and a bushing well interface (176) having a well for receiving the rated bushing insert, the bushing well having a bar stud (250) extending therefrom which is electrically connectable to the interface contact assembly. The connector is tested through the rated bushing insert to initially confirm that the high voltage cable is deenergized. Next, the connector is grounded through the rated bushing insert, and finally, the connector is isolated by disconnecting the interface contact assembly from the equipment.
L'invention se rapporte à une prise de dérivation (100), protégée et réductrice de charge, conçue pour tester, mettre à la terre et isoler un connecteur (120) d'un système haute tension au moyen d'une pièce rapportée (260) de type douille nominale. Ledit connecteur possède une borne pour la douille (122) et une borne pour la prise (124) connectée à un câble haute tension (128), la borne pour la douille pouvant être fixée à un équipement électrique. La prise comporte une interface d'interruption hors-tension (170) dotée d'un ensemble de contact (208) susceptible d'être logé dans la borne pour la douille, ledit ensemble de contact de l'interface pouvant être relié au câble haute-tension et à l'équipement ; une interface d'interruption de charge (172) ayant une ouverture traversante allant jusqu'à l'interface d'interruption hors-tension; et une interface à gorge (176) pour la douille comportant une gorge conçue pour recevoir la pièce rapportée de type douille nominale, la gorge pour la douille possédant un goujon de type barre (250) qui peut être électriquement relié audit ensemble de contact. On teste le connecteur au moyen de la pièce rapportée de type douille nominale en vue d'une confirmation initiale de la mise hors tension du câble haute tension. Puis on met à la terre le connecteur par l'intermédiaire de la pièce rapportée de type douille nominale et finalement on isole ce connecteur en déconnectant de l'équipement l'ensemble de contact de l'interface.
