The invention concerns a continuous casting ingot mould equipped with an immersed nozzle (3) provided with lateral outlets (2) opposite the small sides (5) of the ingot mould, and whereof the pattern of molten metal flows can be naturally in single loop ordouble loop , or even unstable . The invention is characterized in that it consists in using sliding magnetic fields acting, at the nozzle, on the flows of liquid metal reaching the ingot mould through the nozzle orifices, said magnetic fields being generated by polyphase linear electromagnetic field windings (14, 14',15, 15') arranged opposite at least one side of the ingot mould on either side of the nozzle, preferably opposite one large side and advantageously both, so as to set, or stabilizes, a permanent pattern in double loop mode.
L'invention s'applique à une lingotière de coulée continue dotée d'une busette immergée (3) pourvue d'ouies de sorties latérales (2) tournées en regard des petites faces (5) de la lingotière, et dont la configuration des écoulements du metal en fusion peut être naturellement en mode "simple boucle" ou "double boucle", ou encore "instable". L'invention se caractérise en ce que l'on met en oeuvre des champs magnétiques glissants agissant, à la hauteur de la busette, sur les flux de métal liquide arrivant en lingotière par les ouies de la busette, lesdits champs magnétiques étant produits par des inducteurs électromagnétiques linéaires polyphases (14, 14',15, 15') disposés en regard d'au moins une face de la lingotière de part et d'autre de la busette, de préference en regard d'une grande face et avantageusement des deux, de manière à installer, ou stabiliser une configuration permanente en mode "double boucle".
