A packaging material, a method of making such a material, and a package made from such material, are disclosed. A substrate comprises at least one sheet of plastic material. An energy-curable coating is applied to one side of the substrate, which will be the outside of the eventual package. The energy- curable coating is cured by exposing it to an electron beam or other appropriate energy. A cold-seal cohesive coating is applied to the other side of the substrate. The package is formed by pressing together portions of the inside surface of at least one sheet of the material having the cold-seal cohesive coating on them to form a seal. Preferably, the cold-seal cohesive coating is applied only to those portions of the material that are to form seams in the eventual package.
La présente divulgue un matériau d'emballage, un procédé de fabrication dudit matériau et un colis fait avec ce matériau. Un substrat comprend au moins une feuille de matière plastique. Un revêtement durcissable avec apport d'énergie est appliqué d'un côté du substrat, qui sera à l'extérieur du colis fabriqué. Le revêtement durcissable avec apport d'énergie est durci par exposition à un faisceau d'électrons ou une autre source d'énergie. Un revêtement cohésif à soudure par pression à froid est appliqué à l'autre côté du substrat. Le colis est formé par compression des parties de la surface intérieure d'au moins une feuille du matériau enduit du revêtement cohésif à soudure par pression à froid pour former un joint. De préférence, ledit revêtement cohésif est appliqué uniquement aux parties du matériau qui formeront les joints du colis fabriqué.
