For controlling a vehicle in order to change course, the vehicle (1) following a first rectilinear route portion (R1), to join a second rectilinear route portion (R2) forming a predetermined angle (.theta.) with the first route portion (R1), passing through the junction point (A) between the two route portions (R1, R2), a method is proposed which involves computing a curved trajectory (17) to be followed by the vehicle (1) for a change of course, passing through the said junction point (A), of which the gyration centre (O) is found on the internal bisectrix (3) of the angle (.theta.) formed by the two route portions (R1, R2).
Pour le pilotage d'un véhicule en vue d'effectuer un changement de cap, le véhicule (1) suivant une première portion de route (R1) rectiligne, pour rejoindre une seconde portion de route (R2) rectiligne formant un angle prédéterminé (.theta.) avec la première portion de route (R1), en passant par le point de jonction (A) entre les deux portions de route (R1, R2), le procédé selon l'invention comprend le calcul et le suivi par le véhicule (1) d'une trajectoire courbe (17) de changement de cap passant par ledit point de jonction (A), dont le centre de giration (O) se trouve sur la bissectrice intérieure (3) de l'angle (.theta.) formé par les deux points de route (R1, R2).
