The invention relates to a method for producing glyoxylic acid esters from glyoxylic acid ester hemiacetals which a) are directly transesterified with an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst; or b) are firstly converted into the corresponding glyoxylic acid whole acetals and are then transesterified with an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst, whereupon after a) and b) the acetals are divided into the desired, free glyoxylic acid ester or the hydrate thereof.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de préparer des esters d'acide glyoxylique à partir d'hémiacétals d'ester d'acide glyoxylique qui: a) soit sont soumis directement à une transestérification avec un alcool en présence d'un catalyseur, b) soit sont transformés d'abord en acétals entiers d'ester d'acide glyoxylique, puis sont transestérifiés avec de l'alcool en présence d'un catalyseur. Ces deux opérations a) et b) sont suivies par une séparation de l'acétal pour obtenir l'ester d'acide glyoxylique libre voulu ou son hydrate.
