ABSTRACT A new method is disclosed of anchoring an expansible bolt assembly in a blind bore of a structure, a mine roof, a rock or the like. The bore is provided with at least on ra- dial groove which is arranged to receive a ring forming a part of the expansion bolt assembly, the bolt assembly also forming a part of the invention. The expansion ring is of malleable material which, on operation of the expansion assembly, be- comes embedded in the radial groove. Thus, the invention com- bines an extreme simplicity of the expansion bolt assembly with considerable improvement in the anchoring effect.
