Processed baby foods are disclosed which are formulated with the following: A. Oils. Added oils to yield an acceptable ratio of the essential fatty acids, linoleic acid (LA) and .alpha.-linolenic acid (ALA), which are the precursors for the synthesis of two essential long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids: arachidonic acid (AA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). B. Nucleotides. A blend of 3-6 nucleotides to yield a level of 3-6 mg/100 Kcal, which are associated with a number of biological processes, the most common being the potential to optimize the health of the immune and gastrointestinal systems of breast-fed infants and some infants and young children fed commercial infant formula with added nucleotides. C. Oils and Nucleotides. A combination of A and B.
L'invention concerne des aliments transformés pour bébés contenant A. des huiles destinées à conférer auxdits aliments une teneur acceptable en acides gras essentiels, de l'acide linoléique (LA) et de l'acide .alpha.-linolénique (ALA) constituant les précurseurs pour la synthèse de deux acides gras polyinsaturés essentiels à chaîne longue, ainsi que de l'acide arachidonique (AA) et de l'acide docosahexaénoïque (DHA) ; B. un mélange de 3-6 nucléotides destinés à conférer auxdits aliments une teneur de 3-6 mg/100 Kcal, associés à une pluralité de processus biologiques, et permettant notamment d'optimiser l'état de santé des systèmes immunitaires et gastrointestinaux d'enfants en bas âge allaités, et d'enfants nourris avec des formulations commerciales contenant des nucléotides ajoutés ; et, C. une combinaison desdits huiles A. et nucléotides B.
