A hedgehog polypeptide comprising hedgehog coupled to a polymer containing a polyalkylene glycol moiety wherein the hedgehog and the polyalkylene glycol moiety are arranged such that the hedgehog has an enhanced bioavailability relative to another hedgehog lacking the polymer and exhibits no decrease in activity as compared to non-conjugated hedgehog. The conjugates of the invention are usefully employed in therapeutic as well as non-therapeutic, e.g., diagnostic, applications.

L'invention concerne un polypeptide hedgehog comprenant la protéine hedgehog couplé à un polymère renfermant une fraction polyalkylèneglycol. La protéine hedgehog et la fraction polyalkylèneglycol sont couplées de façon que hedgehog présente une meilleure biodisponibilité par rapport à une autre hedgehog exempte du polymère, et qu'elle n'affiche aucune diminution de son activité en comparaison à la hedgehog non conjuguée. Les conjugués de l'invention trouvent leur utilité dans des applications thérapeutiques et non thérapeutiques, telles que diagnostiques par exemple.
