A press roll for a paper machine, comprising a core roll and a ceramics thermally sprayed film formed on the outer peripheral surface of the core roll. The ceramics thermally sprayed film is characterized in that the values of Rk and Vo which are the characteristic evaluation parameters for the surface of a plateau structure come within the following range. Rk <= 8.0 ~m Vo >= 0.030 mm3/cm2 (where Vo = (100 - Mr2) x Rvk/2000 (mm3/cm2) Where Rk, Mr2, and Rvk are the level difference Rk of the core part, the load length ratio Mr2 of the core part, and the projected valley part depth Rvk of the core part specified in JIS B0671-2-2002 (ISO13565-2-1996), respectively.
Un rouleau de presse pour une machine à papier, comprenant un rouleau central et un film céramique thermiquement pulvérisé formé sur la surface périphérique externe du rouleau central. Le film céramique thermiquement pulvérisé est caractérisé en ce que les valeurs de Rk et Vo qui sont les paramètres d~évaluation caractéristiques pour la surface d~une structure en plateau sont compris dans la gamme suivante.
