A viscoelastic foam system is provided having an amine-based polyoxypropylene extended polyol to impart strength, recoverability and endurance to the foam, and an appropriately selected non-amine-based polyol to provide flexibility to the foam. The combination of amine-based propylene oxide extended polyol and non-amine-based polyol provides a viscoelastic semi-rigid foam with excellent impact and recovery properties, recovering to substantially 100 % of its initial volume and shape following an impact, yet with sufficient rigidity and stiffness so that it is effective at absorbing multiple impacts. A method of making the above viscoelastic foam is also provided.
L'invention concerne un système de mousse viscoélastique comprenant un polyol à base d'amine, à extension polyoxypropylène, destiné à conférer à la mousse de la résistance mécanique, de la résilience et de l'endurance, et un polyol à base non amine pour conférer de la souplesse à la mousse. La combinaison de polyol à base d'amine, à extension d'oxyde de propylène, et du polyol à base non amine permet la production d'une mousse viscoélastique semi-rigide possédant d'excellentes propriétés de résistance aux chocs et de résilience, retrouvant sensiblement 100 % de son volume de sa forme d'origine après un choc, bien que suffisamment rigide et raide afin de permettre l'absorption de chocs multiples. Un procédé de fabrication de la mousse viscoélastique de l'invention est également décrit.
