The present invention provides for use in a well conduit portion that has a locating profile recessed in a sidewall of the well conduit portion, a up-to-set lock mandrel for registering with the locating profile. The well conduit is free of a no-go shoulder proximate the locating profile, thereby providing a well conduit that does not have a restricted inside diameter proximate the locating profile. The up-to-set lock mandrel comprises a generally cylindrical body and a locating key coupled to the body and biased to be urged from a seeking position toward a no-go position. The locating key has a no-go profile thereon contoured to engage the locating profile when the locating key is in the no-go position, to thereby function as a no-go for the up-to-set lock mandrel. The locating key can be locked in a set position to maintain the no-go profile in the engaged position. The up-to-set lock mandrel may further include a locking mechanism located proximate the locating key that is displaceable with respect to the body between a running position wherein the locating key is maintained in the seeking position and a set position wherein the locking sleeve sustains the locating key in the set position.
La présente invention porte sur une portion de canalisation de puits dont la paroi comporte une cavité de repérage et un mandrin de repêchage à blocage automatique coïncidant avec ladite cavité de repérage. La canalisation ne portant aucun épaulement de butée à proximité de la cavité de repérage, le diamètre intérieure de la canalisation à proximité de la cavité n'est pas restreint. Le mandrin de repêchage à blocage automatique se compose d'un corps essentiellement cylindrique et d'une cale d'alignement couplée au corps de mandrin et orientée de manière à être entraînée d'une position de recherche à une position d'arrêt. La cale d'alignement porte une butée profilée de manière à s'engager dans le profilé d'alignement lorsque la cale d'alignement est dans la position d'arrêt et servant ainsi de butée pour le mandrin de repêchage à blocage automatique. La cale d'alignement peut être bloquée en place pour maintenir la butée en position d'engagement. Le mandrin peut également présenter un mécanisme de blocage à proximité de la cale d'alignement qui peut se déplacer, par rapport au corps du mandrin, d'une position d'avancement, dans laquelle la cale d'alignement est maintenue en position de recherche, à une position de blocage, dans laquelle la manchon de blocage maintient la cale d'alignement dans la position de blocage.
