An absorbent article having a main body portion and a pair of flaps (24) joined to the main body portion (22). The flaps are folded over the garment side of the main body portion such that the flap adhesives (54) and the central pad adhesives (56) can be covered by a single release liner. The flaps may or may not be used while the absorbent article is being used, i.e., the absorbent article may be used by wrapping the flaps around the edges of the crotch region and securing the flap adhesives to the underside of a user's panty; alternatively, the flaps may be left in their folded configuration on the garment side of the main body portion and the flap adhesives may be secured, along with the central pad adhesive, to the inner crotch region of the panty.
Un article absorbant possède une partie corps principale et une paire de rabats (24) réunis à la partie corps principale (22). Les rabats sont repliés sur le côté du tissu de la partie corps principale, de telle sorte que les adhésifs (54) des rabats et les adhésifs (56) du rembourrage central peuvent être recouverts d'un seul revêtement libérable. On peut utiliser ou ne pas utiliser les rabats lorsqu'on porte l'article absorbant, c'est-à-dire qu'on peut utiliser l'article absorbant en enroulant les rabats autour des bords de la région de l'entrejambe et en fixant les adhésifs des rabats à la partie inférieure d'une culotte; dans une autre variante, on peut laisser les rabats dans leur confirguration pliée sur le côté du tissu de la partie corps principale et on peut fixer les adhésifs des rabats, le long de l'adhésif du rembourrage central, à la région interne de l'entrejambe de la culotte.
