The present invention is in the field of optical polymers, more particularly, optical polycarbonates for use in optical components. The present invention provides a cross-linkable or cross-linked optical polycarbonate built up from a monomer mixture comprising: compounds according to formula (1), wherein P stands for -C1, O-R, an imidazole group or -O-Ph, Q stands for -C1, O-R, an imidazole group or -O-Ph, R stands for an alkylene group having 1-6 carbon atoms, Ph stands for phenyl, A stands for -Ph-, halogenated -Ph-, (halo)alkyl substituted -Ph, -Ph-Ph-, halogenated -Ph-Ph, -Ph-C(CH3)2-Ph-, -Ph-SO2-Ph-, - Ph-C(CF3)-Ph-, halogenated -Ph-C(CH3)2-Ph, halogenated -Ph-C(CF3)2-Ph, phenolphtalein, -Ph-C(Ph)2-Ph, m is an integer from 0 to 5, with the A-groups being the same or different, optionally, diols, optionally, a dihydroxy- functionalised NLO-compound, and 2,3 dihydroxy propyl methacrylate as a cross- linker.

La présente invention se situe dans le domaine des polymères optiques et notamment des polycarbonates optiques, utiles dans des composants optiques. Cette invention concerne un polycarbonate optique réticulable ou réticulé, construit à partir d'un mélange de monomères comprenant: des composés selon la formule (1) dans laquelle: P représente -Cl, O-R, un groupe imidazole ou -O-Ph, Q représente -Cl, O-R, un groupe imidazole ou -O-Ph, R représente un groupe alkylène possédant 1 à 6 atomes de carbones, Ph représente phényle, A représente -Ph-, -Ph- halogéné, -Ph substitué par (halo)alkyle, -Ph-Ph-, -Ph-Ph halogéné, -Ph-C(CH¿3?)¿2?-Ph-, -Ph-SO¿2?-Ph-, -Ph-C(CF¿3?)-Ph-, -Ph-C(CH¿3?)¿2?-Ph halogéné, -Ph-C(CF¿3?)¿2?-Ph halogéné, phénolphtaléine, -Ph-C(Ph)¿2?-Ph, m représente un nombre entier compris entre 0 et 5, les groupes A étant semblables ou différents; éventuellement des diols; éventuellement un composé NLO dihydroxy-fonctionnalisé, ainsi que du méthacrylate de 2,3-dihydroxypropyle en tant qu'agent de réticulation.
